Online Training Workshops

What is it?
Our online training workshops make it super easy to fit in your training at a time and place that is convenient to you whilst still having access to our professional feedback and support.

Who is it for?
Every child care centre that's ready to make a real difference in the health of their children. Food Coordinators, Centre Managers and ALL child care staff.

Training Modules:
Whole Food Basics
The first module in the series takes you through the basics of transitioning into a whole food kitchen. Here you will learn what whole foods to start with and most importantly, how to use them. You will also discover the importance of nutrient dense foods for young children and how foods impact a child's delicate digestive and immune systems.
Managing Food Allergies
Our Managing Food Allergies module will help you to understand food allergies and sensitivities and show you how to simply and easily make menu changes to suit the needs of specific dietary requirements.
Nourishing our Babies
Catering for the 0-2 age group has it's own special module because their needs are very different to those of older children. Babies have very delicate, immature digestive systems and their diets need to reflect this in order for them to thrive. The Nourishing our Babies module will take you through the specific do's and don'ts of the 0-2 age group and how to easily cater for their needs in a busy child care kitchen.
Cooking with Legumes & Grains
Once you understand how to cook with legumes and grains, they can become a great nutrient dense asset in your kitchen. In this module, you will learn what legumes and gains are best suited for children aged 0-5 as well as how to prepare and cook them for optimal digestion and flavour.
Menu Planning
If you can properly plan your menu's, your day's will be much less stressful. Here we look at how to plan your menu's whilst taking into consideration your budget, food allergies, time and skills.

Each workshop is offered twice a year. You can view our workshop calendar here. Our workshops also come with worksheets and questionnaires for you to fill out online. Once completed and emailed to us for marking, you will receive a certificate of completion.

Menu Planning

What is it?
We design seasonal menu's specific to your centre's needs, tailored to your unique budget and dietary requirements.

Who is it for?
Any centre ready to become a leader in child care nutrition - without the stress of constantly searching for new, healthy recipes... that the children will actually eat! (We've already figured it out for you!)

What's included:
  • A meeting (either face to face or Skype) with your centre manager and food coordinator to discuss your current menu and work out what is and isn't working.
  • A four week seasonal menu will be devised, taking into consideration any food allergies, your timeframe and budget requirements.
  • Your menu will include 4 weeks of delicious recipes for morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. We can also include meals specific to the 0-2 age group as well as alternatives for special dietary requirements (e.g. vegetarian, dairy free, gluten free etc).
  • Once your menu has been finalised, we will have another meeting with your food coordinator to ensure they are comfortable and confident in rolling out the new menu.

Investment: from $500
